The Power of Love is a song originally sung by the popular 80's band, Frankie Goes to Hollywood but in 2012, Gabrielle Aplin remade it and sung it is a slow, emotional way.
As a group, we decided that this was the best song to make a music video for. We thought that as the lyrics are very meaningful, we would be able to produce a narrative-based video. This would be the easiest thing to do but we decided that we would challenge ourselves to move towards a more of a concept-based video.
From the pictures, the viewers can establish the feeling of powerful love causing loneliness. In picture 1, you can see a man, sitting in an open environment on his own. This can be thought of as the man gathering his thoughts, maybe regretting something. The seond picture shows a love heart representing the love element in the song and picture 3 shows a crown. This can show an element of power and we also discussed how this picture can like the other two. The power of love over some people can cause them to become lonely and distant from their friends and family. It can be a lasting problem and can effect people in numerous ways.
