To evaluate, I believe that the shots i used and the music i added really made the clip more appealing and interesting to the target audience. By using the shots provided, i used various techniques to create a 1:54 minute clip. After learning how to take certain parts of clips and put them together, I took specific moments out of most of the clips provided and put them together as a sequence. By inserting them one after the other, i was able to create a sequence that flowed really well. I also used the overwrite tool to put some clips above each other. To help with this, i turned on the 'Snapping' tool to make sure there was no breaks and that the continuity was perfect.
I thought that the audio would be one of the biggest problems in my video as i wasn't that confident at using and inserting it onto the sequence. After learning about how to separate the audio from the video, i was then able to make it so the audio is heard before the video is played. The correct term used for this is a J or an L Cut. When it came to music, I listened though the soundtracks provided and found that i liked a particular part of one song. I used the 'In' and 'Out' points to grab the right section and just looped it though out the majority of my video. I thought this worked really well because you wouldn't really hear that it had been repeated as the narration drowned some of it out.
There are some elements that I thought could have gone better such as using a lot more shots than I did instead of just repeating the same ones throughout and also using my time better. As I didn't complete this short sequence in the time given, I felt like i had failed the task. This also made me realise that I may need to give myself more time for future projects as it takes me longer to edit then to film.
Throughout this process, I have learnt that it does take a long time to edit just a short sequence and that I may need to leave myself a longer period of time on future projects. I also learnt there is a lot of different techniques that I can use to make my video better and also that there are a lot of different ways to put the clips together such as just plain inserting them and also overwriting them. Also learning how to change the opacity of some shots really helps as it is a technique I was hoping to use in my upcoming projects.
